British Food Fortnight – Super Simple Supper Sausages.

Bangers and mash is always a hit at home.  It’s simple, straightforward and generally a favourite for a Tuesday night. The beauty of this is that you can spend a lot of money on artisan made sausages from hand reared Old Spot pigs lovingly tended to by members of the Royal family or, if you are working on a budget, then you can get Aldi’s finest.  I appreciate that they will taste different but it does not have to be expensive to have bangers and mash.  Also you can have this either on its’ own or with gravy or with baked beans, it really is up to you.   We’re gravy people in our house and with this it would have to be onion gravy.  So, no beans but a whole heap of buttered broccoli.

With so many different schedules to work round in our house we tend to eat in shifts during the week and particularly on Tuesday.  Therefore first sitting will be up at the breakfast bar and all sat on bar stools.    I love the animal acrylic barstools particularly and think they would look just gorgeous in my home.  Seen here are the Cerf, the Tiger, the Lapin and the Peacock.
