From opening his first store in Soho, New York City in 1998 to celebrating 30 years of Modern American Glamour in 2023, Jonathan Adler has been the creative mind behind many fresh sculptural pieces over the years. Inspired by mid-century modern style art and global pop culture, his impressive career started in the pottery business, eventually transitioning into luxurious and liveable interiors.

“I love that I get to make the stuff I dream of a reality. Inspiration for me comes from everywhere; when I’m creating new designs, I keep my eyes and my mind wide open.”

– Jonathan Adler

We have been fortunate to work with the potter-turned-home-designer since 2020 and celebrate all his divine, bright, and beautiful pieces.

During his tenure as a designer in the interior field, Jonathan Adler has also worked with various organisations to support LGBTQ+ rights with his husband, Simon Doonan.

Carefully tailored with couture details, we highlight some of his work for Pride Month.

“My favourite piece from my collection is usually whatever I’ve made most recently. But there is something about our Dora Maar vase; it doesn’t look like it was designed, but rather uncovered. It just looks like it’s supposed to be that way.”
